Since joining the Court, Justice Garman has voted in 221 criminal constitutional law cases.  She has voted for defendants in 67 cases and for the prosecution in 154.  From 2001 to 2009, Justice Garman voted for defendants in 42 cases and for the prosecution 86 times.  From 2010 to 2019, she supported the defendants 25 times and the prosecution in 68 cases.

Justice Garman has participated in 144 criminal constitutional law cases won by the defendants below.  She has voted to affirm in 48 cases and to reverse 96 times.  From 2001 to 2009, Justice Garman voted to affirm 35 times and to reverse in 55 cases.  Since that time, she has supported defendants in 13 cases and has voted to reverse, in whole or in part, 41 times.

 

Justice Garman participated in 75 constitutional law cases lost by criminal defendants below.  She voted to reverse in 18 of those cases and voted to affirm 57 times.  From 2001 to 2009, she voted to reverse in only seven cases while voting to affirm 31 times.  From 2010 to 2019, she voted to reverse in 11 cases and to affirm 26 times.
