In 2005, the Supreme Court decided one civil case each from Henry, Peoria and Rock Island counties. In 2005, the Court decided two cases from Rock Island and one from LaSalle and Peoria. In 2007, the Court decided two cases from Will county and one from Knox, Rock Island and Tazewell. In 2008, the Court decided two more cases from Will county and one from Peoria. In 2009, the Court decided four civil cases from Will county and one from Grundy county.
The Third District civil cases from 2010 to 2014 were quite narrowly distributed. In 2010, the Court decided one case each from LaSalle, Tazewell and Will counties. In 2011, the Court decided two cases from Will and one from Peoria. In 2012, the Court decided four cases from Will county. In 2013, the Court decided two cases from LaSalle and one each from Putnam and Will. In 2014, the Court decided one civil case from Peoria county.
In 2015, the Court decided one case each from Peoria, Warren and Will counties. In 2016, the Court decided one case each from Peoria, Rock Island and Will counties. In 2017, the Court decided one case from Grundy, Peoria and Will counties. In 2018, the Court decided two cases from Will county and one from Marshall. So far in 2019, the Court has decided one case from Knox county.
The biggest county in the Third District in terms of population, Will, accounted for 37.52% of the population, but only 28.07% of the cases. Peoria was 10.33% of the population and 22.81% of the cases. Rock Island county was 8.17% of the population and 9.65% of the cases. LaSalle county accounted for 6.31% of the population but 10.53% of the cases. Kankakee county was 6.28% of the population, but only 1.76% of the civil cases. Whiteside cases was 3.24% of the population, but produced no Supreme Court civil cases at all. Henry county was 2.8% of the population, but only 1.76% of the cases. Grundy county accounted for 2.78% of the population and 3.51% of the cases. Fulton county was 2.05% of the population, but again produced no civil cases between 1990 and 2019. Bureau county accounted for 1.94% of the population and 1.75% of the cases. McDonough county was an over-producer per capita – 1.81% of the population, 8.11% of the cases. Iroquois cases was 1.65% of the population and 0.88% of the cases.
