Last week, we reviewed the data on where, county by county, the Second District’s civil and criminal cases originated.  This week and next, we’re looking at the data for the Third District.

There are twenty-one counties in all in Illinois’ Third District: Bureau, Fulton, Grundy, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Iroquois, Kankakee, Knox, LaSalle, Marshall, McDonough, Mercer, Peoria, Putnam, Rock Island, Start, Tazewell, Warren, Whiteside and Will.

In 1990, the Court decided three civil cases from Peoria county and one each from Iroquois, Kankakee, LaSalle, Marshall and Warren.  In 1991, the Court decided three cases from LaSalle county, two from Peoria and one from Putnam, Rock Island and Will counties.  In 1992, the Court decided two cases from LaSalle and one each from Rock Island, Tazewell and Will.  In 1993, the Court decided two cases from Peoria county.  In 1994, the Court decided two cases from Peoria and Will county and one each from Grundy, Henry and Tazewell.

In 1995, the Court decided one case each from Bureau, Grundy and La Salle counties.  In 1996, the Court decided three cases from Peoria county and one each from Knox and Rock Island.  In 1997, the Court decided one case each from Bureau, Rock Island and Will counties.  In 1998, the Court decided three civil cases from Peoria and two from McDonough county.  In 1999, the Court decided one case from Knox county and one from Tazewell county.

In 2000, the Court decided one civil case from Will county.  In 2010, the Court decided two cases from Will and one each from McDonough and Tazewell.  The following year, the Court decided one case each from Kankakee, Peoria and Tazewell.  In 2003, the Court decided two cases from Will county and one each from Knox, Putnam and Rock Island counties.  In 2004, the Court decided two cases from Peoria county and one from LaSalle, Rock Island and Will counties.
