Between 2000 and 2009, the Supreme Court decided 123 criminal procedure cases.  Defendants won 50 of those cases, and the government won 73.  From 2000 to 2004, defendants won 21 cases and lost 31.  Between 2005 and 2009, defendants won 29 cases and lost 42.

The Court decided 58 criminal procedure cases which the defendants won at the Appellate Court.  The Supreme Court affirmed 22 of those decisions and reversed 36 times.  From 2000 to 2004, the Court affirmed eight times and reversed in 19 cases.  Between 2005 and 2009, the Court affirmed 14 defense wins and reverse 17 times.

The Court decided 63 criminal procedure cases lost by the defendants below between 2000 and 2009.  The Court reversed 26 of those defendants’ losses and affirmed 37.  Between 2000 and 2004, the Court decided 24 criminal procedure cases lost by the defendants below, and the results were split: 12 reversals, 12 affirmances.  Between 2005 and 2009, the Court reversed 14 defense losses and affirmed 25.
